What wonderful hosts and a great house! Everything we expected, and more.
The beds were clean and comfortable. The kitchen was clean and well equipped. There was nothing about the house we would change, and nothing we would add given the choice.
Less than a 15 minute drive to Alton Towers makes it a great base, but the lovely house made it far better than just a base. Which is important considering Alton Towers closes at 6pm.
Overall it was a fantastic stay, and we wouldn't hesitate to come again if we were in the area.

The property was fantastic. Big, homely and actually better than the pictures. The owner was extremely nice and helpful at every stage. Even left a bowl of complimentary snacks. This is genuinely the best booking.com experience I have had. And I would definately come back next time I go to Alton Towers.
Everything was perfect
The cottage exceeded expectations from the pictures, clearly well cared for and all possible needs accommodated for. we used it as the perfect base for alton towers, was lovely to chill in the evening in the living room. beds were all very comfortable.

It was in a quiet position and we visited the local pub and Indian, both of which did great food and a 2 minute walk from the property.
Denise was a lovely host, friendly and quick to respond to any questions I had.
We were highly impressed with the quality of the property and only a 15 minute drive to Alton Towers which was the purpose of our visit.

We were visiting Alton Towers the next day and it took us about 15 mins to get there. There is also a Spar 2 minutes from the house.

Brand new feel. So clean and cosy. Home from home.
The property is beautifully presented, like a high-end renovation has taken place and you’re the first people inside. All rooms are well equipped, spotlessly clean with great furniture choices. It is like being in a home and not a rental. We were a group of 4 men and there was plenty of space for us all. The cottage is in a small, peaceful village. We visited the pub 100 yards away and were made very welcome. There is also a Fish and Chip shop and Indian restaurant in the village and close to the cottage.
There was nothing negative about our stay.

My daughter booked the cottage as a stay over for her birthday on 19/5/24. We just stayed the one night but wished we had stayed longer. Great location with JCB and its beautiful grounds just over the road. Alton Towers and Splash Landings just minutes away which was our reason for booking! The cottage was stunning. My husband, a builder, could not compliment the finish in all the rooms enough. There was everything we could have needed and the host was superb. We will be booking again!!
Whittaker Mews was exceptionally clean, beautifully decorated. Bernie & Denise were fantastic hosts, the property has everything you need, ideal for a family stay with enough rooms to have your own space. I wouldn’t hesitate in staying again or recommending. First class 👏🏻
Great little find for an overnight stay before our trip to Alton Towers, which is 10 mins away. House is like new and was decorated well with all the little things thought of. Walkable to a good pub, shop and we had a good meal in the Indian restaurant a few doors down. Would recommend if you are visiting Alton Towers or the surrounding areas.
Stayed here as a parry of 5 to visit Alton Towers. Communication with the host was excellent and I can only describe the house as exceptional.
Stunning modern renovation. All rooms have been thoughtfully finished and furnished. Our only regret was not booking another night at this lovely house.
I took my daughter and three of her friends for a trip to Alton Towers for her birthday and stayed at Whittaker Mews the night before. It was beautifully appointed and very well designed, super spacious for the five of us. The girls enjoyed walking round the lakes and popping to the local shops which made for a relaxing evening for me! An easy short drive to Alton Towers the following morning. Denise was a responsive and helpful host and we all throughout enjoyed our stay. 10/10.
Cosy stay near Alton towers and Peak District
The cottage was lovely. Modern design and very clean. 15mins away from Alton towers which was our main reason for staying. It’s also close to the Peak District for hikers. The host was so nice too, my partner has left his watch and Denise was really helpful.

Stunning house in a beautiful area. Immaculate and beautifully decorated, had everything we needed and more. 3 good size and stunning bedrooms, plenty of room and super comfy beds!! Lovely garden area. Really helpful and friendly hosts Denise & Bernie and the tea, biscuits, bread and milk was a lovely, much appreciated touch. Great location for Alton Towers. 5++++ stars in all areas Exceptional stay.
There was nothing we didn’t like, it was perfect.
What a stunning cottage, pictures don’t fully do it justice. Beautiful surroundings and a park the other side of the hedge. We stayed for an Alton Towers visit, the location was close and there are shops, a pub and a food outlets a short walk away (The Indian was super tasty). The cottage itself is really well stocked and immaculate, we loved the modern style and amenities. The 9yr olds loved the top bedroom, us adults could chill in the evening when they were in bed down in the lounge without disturbing them. Bernie was a fab host, friendly, proactive and super helpful - we will be back. Thanks for a lovely stay :)
